On February 12, 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that it would deliver redistricting data to the states by September 30, 2021. This triggered enforcement a constitutional amendment providing for the retention of current district maps if the census bureau failed to deliver redistricting data to the states by February 15, 2021. Consequently, new maps will not be used in the 2021 election cycle.
